Development of OTOP villages for Community-Based Tourism: A case study of Silk Village Ban Thatnoi, Uthumphon Phisai district, Sisaket province

The objectives of this research were.1) To study the identity of the OTOP village Ban Thatnoi, Uthumphon Phisai district, Sisaket Province, (2) To study tourism activity format of the village 3) To develop a guideline standard for the village relating to Community Based Tourism.A purposive sampling technique was used to define target selection.The instrument of this study was an in-depth interview form and a structured interview form.
The data was collected by individual emtek 2113 interviews and focus group discussions.Data descriptive analysis technique was applied to describe the identity of the community.The research findings were as follows.1) The identities of Ban Thatnoi were silk weaving, Greenbrier Smilax steamed in banana leaf cups, Siamese cassia curry with chrysalis, candle pudding, bread roast with skunk-vine scent, basketry, white Chinese chive plantation, local herbal medicine, the Temple of Ban Thatnoi and the Huai Samran trekking route.
2) The tourism activities involved 3 steps: 2.1) Welcoming tourists, 2.2) Guiding process, 2.3) Sending tourist.
3) Guidelines for the development are as follows.3.1) Community leaders should invite allof the community members to participate in every tourism activity.3.
2) The community should set seasonal food menus for tourists.3.3) The community should make a list of tourism activities in cluding relative costs and assign the coordinators.3.
4) The community should provide Home Stay and request for Home Stay standard.3.5) The community should establish mutual agreements regarding the management of benefits.3.
6) The community should increase public relations by creating effective media and taylor te400 increase the channel of publication.
